Hare n Hounds this weekend
24/09/2008 20:25
Steve SHAW and Wayne BRAYBROOK have been over at Norwood today setting out the track for the weekend.
For those of you who are a bit apprehensive about the depth of mud that awaits you - fear not - as Steve reports a strange and unusual phenomenon............ dry conditions.
Any rain which has fallen is just enough to keep the dust down, so conditions are looking pretty sweet.
If you still fancy a ride - get in quick. Don’t forget that you can take your trials bike for a blast - a good shakedown for the Scott trial or a change from riding a trial at the weekend.
Information and entry forms on www.rideoffroaduk.co.uk - see the fixture page.

National Rosebowl Trial ride report
14/09/2008 20:45
Well folks - what a fantastic day! The weather held up after a misty start up on’t moor and there were lots of smiling faces so I hope you all enjoyed the trial.
If anyone wish to contribute with a full ride report from any perspective - rider, spectator or observer - with any notable or funny moments which need to be recorded for time and memorial, please email me and Ill make sure they are included on the website.
Likewise, any other comments or feedback on the event will be gladly received and published.
I did’nt see many folks out with a camera, but if anyone has any pictures from the day they would like on the website - let me have ‘em.
Its never easy getting the sections right, and on this occasion they were all set out in heavy rain with an eye on the forecast. With so many riders and skill levels, the sections were just about right - if a little easy for some, but taking marks off the majority.
Of course there were a few exceptional riders that made the rest of us look shoddy aka Mr Wiffen, Gaunt, Thorpe, Koch and Timperley who incredibly made it round the two laps with feet firmly glued to the footrests - incredible riding guys, well done. For us mere mortals it was quite a few more marks lost, but a lot of fun and a great trial for everyone.
Many thanks to all the organising team for an excellent event. They have all committed the last two previous weekends and more - plus today, setting out sections (which included a lot of hard graft chopping out a years worth of undergrowth) not to mention the travelling to and fro to the area from Notts and the sacrifice of thier own riding pleasure during this period.
Also - thanks to all the observers and the landowners for whom this type of event in stunning surroundings would not be possible.
The results are now available from a link on the home page or results page. Sorry for the delay - Steve had to fit this in whilst trying to eke a living and catching up on work sidelined whilst sorting the trial. Next year we will be fully 21st century computerised compatible and the results should be in real time - honest.
Speak soon.
